In an age of isolating digital screens, live theater remains a relevant medium for immediate and personal art. With this medium, we tell stories from diverse points of view centered on individuals to find their truth.

Through 5 years and over 30 productions, Lucky Chaos has brought diverse groups together on stage and in our audiences. We know first hand how affirming and inspiring seeing — in public, and on stage — someone whose appearance and experience mirrors ours. In those moments, we know that we are not invisible. We want to share that experience with everyone.

As said by a member of the office of Cultural Art and Funding, the division of the City of Austin which oversees arts in Austin, “we are in a crisis.” Austin has lost many independent theater venues in the past few years. However, we will not let that stop us. We are more determined than ever to create space for performance art in line with our mission to create dialogue through personal stories. In addition to theater spaces, we are holding our shows in non-traditional spaces. If we find a space where we can bring stage lights and some chairs, art will happen.

“Using the vehicle of humor and various performance art forms, I want to illuminate our commonality of being different.” -Leng Wong, Director
